Clinical Training

As Ultrasound educators we had been approached over many years by health professionals such as obstetricians, general practitioners, midwives, genetic counsellors and clinical technologists to offer ultrasound training that would bridge the training gap currently existing in South Africa. We thus established sTs in order to address the need for ultrasound training for qualified medical practitioners other than sonographers.

In 2015 we began our collaboration with Impilo Medical Systems. We provide the theoretical and practical training on selected short courses, in conjunction with Impilos' logistical support, to develop and enhance the skills required to perform high quality ultrasound examinations.

Diagnostic ultrasound is extremely operator dependent and the potential for misdiagnosis is high unless adequate training is obtained, which is the rationale for the inception of this series of short courses. A great deal of hard work and commitment will be needed from you, our clients, in order for you to succeed; however, we are here to guide you in developing this exciting skill.
